The Meadow Shift
Every day follows a proven routine. Nothing is hurried, except the butterfly, which has ignored several polite notices.
First light
Checks whether the grass remained soft overnight.
Watering round
Gives exactly three daisies one careful pour.
Butterfly patrol
Issues a warning, then watches it leave.
Lake inspection
Confirms the water is still mostly blue.
Official recess
Lies down until another task forgets him.
Morning call
Ticker $MEOWD, called once across the clover.
Union Break
Meadow Cat was hired after arriving early, finding the warmest patch, and refusing to move. The village now calls this groundskeeping. His left paw handles butterflies. His right paw handles nothing before lunch. By late afternoon, every flower is accounted for, every breeze is tested, and the meadow remains exactly as relaxed as its keeper.
Back after one more nap.
